Backups & page revisions
Two safety nets protect your work: automatic page revisions and full-site ZIP backups.
Page revisions (automatic)
Every time you publish or overwrite a page, the previous version is saved automatically as a revision. Nothing is lost by accident.
- Revisions are created transparently — across the dashboard, your AI assistant, and any future tool.
- Restoring a revision reapplies the old content and bumps the page — the version you just replaced is itself captured, so restoring is always undoable.
- Restoring a revision does not change whether the site is published.
To restore:
- Open the page.
- Click Revisions.
- Pick the version you want and restore it.
Old revisions are pruned automatically — the newest ones per page are kept, and anything older than 30 days is removed. You do not need to manage this.
Site backups (Manual)
You can manually generate entire site as a ZIP file backup — pages, collections and records — and restore it into the same site or download it as an offline copy.
Export a backup
- Open your site and click Backup.
- Click Export to download a ZIP.
The ZIP includes a manifest, your pages and collections with their records, and a self-contained HTML copy for browsing offline. It does not include billing data, payment secrets, or site settings — only your content.
Import a backup
- Open the site you want to import into and click Backup.
- Upload the ZIP and choose a mode:
- Merge (default) — adds the imported pages and collections alongside existing ones.
- Replace — removes existing pages first (they are captured as revisions first), then imports.
- Confirm.
Imported sites are set to draft — they are not published automatically, so you can review before going live.
Limits
- Up to 3 backups are kept per site. Older backups beyond this count are removed when you create a new one.
- Managed backups persist until you delete them manually.
Good to know
- Revisions are best-effort: if a snapshot fails, the save still goes through — your latest content is never blocked by a backup problem.
- Backups are a snapshot in time — changes you make after exporting are not included.
- Backups are manual. You can automate this by using the Scheduler/Automation features on your AI app.
